History
An exclusive getaway within South Africa’s Limpopo Province.
In 2004, on 2500 hectares of barren and untouched wilderness, the founder of Lejwe La Metsi had a vision of creating a completely secluded African paradise just 90 minutes from Johannesburg.
Having recruited the most reputable architects and landscapers to bring his vision to life, he decided to nestle the lodge in a majestic valley, providing both scenic views of the surrounding mountain faces and the utmost privacy. The originally desolate land was then carefully crafted to facilitate the building of the lodge area, whilst maintaining and showcasing the natural wonders and beauty of the land.
Over the next 5 years, no expense was spared to build the 5 luxury villas, the entertainment and dining area, the rock-featured swimming pools, the numerous naturally flowing waterfalls and the lush and pristine rolling gardens that all together finally completed the founder’s vision.
Initially reserved only for the exclusive use of its owners, Lejwe La Metsi was then used as a weekend getaway and holiday location for the owners and their closest friends and family. However, in 2016, with the desire to be able to share this serene hidden gem with the rest of the world, Lejwe La Metsi opened its gates to the public and was awarded its 5-star hotel grading from the Tourism Grading of South Africa. Two years later, an additional and completely private villa was added, which has now become the lodge’s self catering villa.
